IMPLEMENTATION OF RESERVATION QUOTA FOR EX-SERVICEMEN IN STATE GOVERNMENT JOBS IN VARIOUS GROUP OF SERVICES
13% vacancies have been reserved for the ESM in Group A, B, C & D posts.
A Monitoring Cell has been set up in the Directorate of Sainik Welfare to ensure implementation of the Policy in latter and spirit.
As on date just about 3% of the reserved vacancies have been utilized. The reasons for under utilization are:-
13%% reservation is sub divided into Gen Category 7%, SC Category 4% and BC Category 2%. The composition of Armed Forces being non caste bases; sufficient number of candidates to fill the posts is not available. Consequently these vacancies get merged with the main pool of reservation quota of the SC/BC.
Mismatch between the qualitative requirements of the posts viz a viz availability of ESM with the requisite qualification; bulk of the ESM being from Arms (Infantry /artillery /armed Corps), moist of them do not fit in the bill of the technical posts.
Appointments of Honour & Gratitude:-
As per the Punjab Govt Notification No 10/6/05-1DW/1799 dt 29 Oct 2009, the appointments of Honour and Gratitude and other financial benefits admissible under the rules/instruction shall be given in all cases of Battle Casualty as declared by the Army Authorities irrespective of any Operation or any Specified Area of operation with retrospective effect i.e. 01 Jan 1999 to any one member of the family as per the Educational Qualification.
