TRAINING CONDUCTED BY SAINIK WELFARE DEPARTMENT
Department of Sainik Welfare runs vocational training centres affiliated with Punjab Technical University/Language Department, Government of Punjab at Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, Gurdaspur, Ropar, Faridkot and Chandigarh where Ex-servicemen/widows/their wards are being trained. Details of Training are as follows:-
  COMPUTER OPERATOR & PROGRAMMING ASSISTANT COURSE (COPA)
 
ELIGIBILITY CRITERION. The course is conducted for the Ex-servicemen, their widows, wards of ex-servicemen and serving defence personnel of the three services. In very rare cases we accept the wards of Para Military Forces/Police personnel. In exceptional cases we may accept very few other deserving candidates. Minimum and desirable educational qualification required for entry into this course is as follows:-
  a). Basic qualification to join the course is 10+2 (Medical, Non Medical, Commerce or any other subject with Mathematics stream) with at least 50% marks from PSEB/CBSE/ICSE etc or equivalent. or
  b). Diploma in engineering from any recognized Polytechnic of 3 years duration after 10th class.
  c). Higher qualification candidates will be given preference.

  PUNJABI STENOGRAPHY COURSE
  ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
  a). Matric First Division (Punjabi compulsory)
  b). 10+2 Second Division (Punjabi compulsory).;
  c). Preference will be given to the candidates having higher qualifications.

    Jalandhar, Ropar, Faridkot & Amritsar
  PRE-RECRUITMENT TRAINING
  For recruitment into the Army, Navy, Air Force in NER & MER and Paramilitary/State Forces, pre-recruitment training is conducted at Jalandhar, Patiala, Amritsar and Gurdaspur.
  Eligibility Conditions for entry into the Army

a). Height 170 cm 162 cm
b). Chest 77-82 cm 77-82 cm
c). Weight 50 Kg 50 Kg
d). Educational Qualifications 10th/SSLC Min 45% marks 10th/SSLC (With Eng & Math) Min 45% marks
e). Age 17 to 20 Yrs 17 to 22 Yrs
  (Note : Wards of Ex-servicemen/serving soldiers are allowed relaxation of 2 cm in Height, 1 cm in Chest and 2 Kg in Weight)
  Eligibility Conditions for entry into Para Military Forces
  a). Wards of Exsm/Widows should be Matric.
  b). Age between 18 to 23 years.( Relaxation of 5 yrs for SC and 3 Yrs for OBC candidates).
  c). Height 170 cm.
  d). Chest 77-82 cm.
  e). Weight 50 Kgs.
  (Note : Duration of cadres is 6 weeks)
 
  • All ESM/their widows/dependents who are not in receipt of any kind of Pension and have not been     provided any assistance by State Govt or any other source for the purpose.

  • Death in harness on duty – Widow can avail facility within 10 yrs from The date of death of soldier     irrespective of the fact that the death is Attributable to military service or not.

  • Widow of ESM can avail the facility within five years from the date of Death of ESM if the death is within     5 years from the date of retirement.
